I knew when Jax was going into preschool I wanted some form of Bento Box for him to use. He's a great eater, with a very short attention span. Truth be told I was petrified he would starve at school.

His amazing Pia usually spoon fed him, which meant homeboy needed to feed himself and focus with a class full of friends. Our best shot was some exciting varieties that allowed him to eat quickly!

I found the bentgo on sale (they go on sale frequently so keep an eye out) and it looked like a great size for my hungry boy and score they had amazing reviews on being leakproof! Because of Jax's allergies I wanted to make sure We could put almost anything in there and not have to worry about it not only being corn, wheat, dairy & refined sugar free but also nothing that may leak.

Of course I had to add in extra food, because the fear of my boy going hungry was all too real.

The bentgo was great for preschool and we still use it for small outings for the day since it is soo leak resistant and really keeps things fresh and exciting! The best feature about the bentgo is the interchangeable main compartments, it makes cleaning & packing lunches so much easier for those busy / insane school weeks.

For Kindergarten the same reservations came creeping in, I knew we were going to need something that was easy to clean, larger and kept the bento box idea since it worked so well! I hummed and hawed on the planet box items, the selection of sizes + cost were huge factors for me. It came in at 78$ Canadian which was a big risk if it didn't work. Lucky for us it was perfect! He really did need the larger size and most days cleaned it all off!

Top 5 Differences between the Bentgo vs. the Planet Box

1. Bentgo is a boss for leakproof whereas the planet box requires additional containers within the bento

2. Planet Box size selections allow for a good sized meal with bigger compartments perfect for great eaters!

3. Bentgo has awesome seals in the lid that for sure keep food colder and fresher longer

4. Planet Box is not plastic! We're always trying to choose glass & metal wherever possible so I loved that the planet box doesn't add anymore plastic to our home.

5. Bentgo has a interchangeable main compartment so you can easily replace and clean, a lot easier for those busy school weeks when the lunch kits don't always get cleaned straight after school.

What are your favourite lunch kits?
