It only seemed natural to start off our blogging journey with our top 5 favourite coffee shops in our area... being that it is the inspiration for our blog!

We will admit to being regular Starbucks Coffee drinkers! Amanda swings by Starbucks and brings us a fresh latte and kids hot soy steam milk in the morning in exchange for some Hudson snuggles!

However, when we can support local we do! So, when we are out on our family adventures we make sure we discover a new amazing coffee shop. Each month we will be sharing a new favourite coffee spot with you!

Here is a list of our top 5 favourite local coffee shops:

1) Mink Mink is located at Morgan Crossing here in South Surrey. They are known for their artisan chocolates! Mink has a variety of drinks and snacks to please everyone. They also have vegan and gluten free options such as the delicious quinoa chocolate chip cookie. Mink is also known for their chocolate fondue and Belgian waffles. Some of our favorite drinks include: mocha, kambucha on tap, or coffee from their Clover machine. If you are staying to visit, their tea comes on a beautiful silver tray and is worth the experience. Brittney's go to: soy mocha Amanda's go to: Almond milk Latte

2) Islands Cafe

The moment you step into Islands Cafe you feel like you've walked into a coffee shop off the beach in Hawaii. Islands Cafe is located on Johnston St in White Rock. They are known for their fresh Hawaiian coffee beans as well as their acaii and poke bowls! Britney's go to: a soy latte and an acaii bowl (or as Grayson calls it an ice cream bowl) or a blueberry smoothie.

Amanda's go to: Almond milk Latte with Fresh Cocoa, Acai bowl and Breakfast Sandwich

3) West Village Cafe

When you walk into West Village Cafe you feel a sense a calm and cool vibes!! It's so trendy and we're lucky it's close to home! Their coffee is fresh and well priced. Their peanut butter bar and chocolate croissants are must haves. They also have a delicious menu of lunch items. We've recently tried the award winning grilled cheese and the avocado toast they are definitely worth the visit! If you need to get some work done bring your laptop and pull up a seat. Brittney's go to: soy latte, peanut butter bar and a smoothie for Grayson

Amanda's go to: Almond Milk Latte & Avocado Toast

4) Blacksmith Bakery

Weekends usually include an adventure and one of our favourite stops is Fort Langley for a coffee and a walk. Blacksmith Bakery is a great coffee shop with a play area for kids! They roast organic beans from Republica coffee, also located in Fort Langley. They recently added a wood fire oven for pizza! Can't wait to check it out!

Brittney's go to: Soy extra hot latte

Amanda's go to: Almond Milk Latte

5) Unit 4

unit 4

Unit 4 is a brand new coffee shop in Fort Langley. It may be one of our new favourites. The location is perfect for grabbing a coffee and heading to the local farmers market on Saturdays! Another plus is they have popsicles from Popsi_gal that are made with clean ingredients and sweeten with local honey which are a nice treat for the boys on a hot sunny day.

Brittney's go to: the usual!

Amanda's go to: You guessed it...iced Almond Milk Latte
